In October 2019, Tamara and Conley sat next to each other on their first day of law school. Both were nervous, but they made small talk about note-taking techniques and class schedules. Fast forward to the beginning of 3L year, after months of Covid and remote learning, when Conley spotted Tamara across the room at a law school happy hour. He struck up a conversation about summer jobs, and the two talked (and laughed) the night away. They’ve been doing the same ever since.
Following graduation, Conley and Tamara started clerkships nearly 1000 miles apart—Tamara in Wisconsin; Conley in Arkansas. After a year of long-distance dating, they reunited in Washington, DC.
In February 2026, on the cobblestone streets of Alexandria, Virginia, Conley asked Tamara to marry him, as nervous as he was on the first day of law school. She said yes.
