A great option for guests traveling from the United States or nearby destinations.

Mexico City International Airport Benito Juárez (MEX)

About 3 hours 30 minutes by car (168 mi / 270 km)

Ideal for guests who are looking for the widest range of flight options or to extend their stay in Mexico.

Airport Transportation Options

Several companies offer shared and private airport transfers from Querétaro, León, and Mexico City. Shared transfers from Querétaro and León start at $25 per person, and private transfers begin around MXN $2,000–$118 per vehicle, with larger vehicles available for groups. From Mexico City, shared transfers are significantly longer (approximately 4.5 hours) and generally begin around $108 per person, and private vehicles start around $325 for a sedan.

Uber does not provide transportation from airports.

Note: We do not recommend traveling from the airport to San Miguel de Allende at night. There are plenty of flight options that will allow arrival in San Miguel de Allende before dark.

Getting Around the City

San Miguel de Allende’s historic center is highly walkable, safe, and easy to explore, with most attractions located just a short walk from each other.
For longer distances, Uber is a convenient and reliable option. Taxis are also available throughout the city; we simply recommend confirming the fare before starting your ride. Please note that most taxis require cash (in Mexican pesos).

Weather

March is one of the most pleasant times to visit San Miguel de Allende, with sunny days, blue skies, and cool mornings and evenings. Daytime temperatures are typically around (79–84°F) (26–29°C), while evenings can cool down to (50–55°F) (10–13°C).

We recommend wearing light, comfortable clothing during the day and bringing a light sweater or jacket for the evening. Don’’t forget sunscreen, sunglasses, and comfortable shoes to enjoy the celebration and everything San Miguel de Allende has to offer.
